Privacy

This page outlines SEA's policy regarding privacy on our website and associated online services such as the SEA Members' Area. It applies only to these services.

Information We Collect from Visitors to the SEA Website

Our website uses statistics tracking software to gather generalised information from visitors who visit our site with Javascript enabled. This information includes (but is not limited to):

  • IP address,
  • operating system,
  • screen resolution,
  • browser type and version number,
  • browser plugins,
  • search terms, and
  • referring websites

This information is collected using a system run by our web developer Evan M. Sanders and is used, internally, to optimise our website and content for visitors. Besides this, we do not pass this information on to anyone else.

This information takes the form of statistical information, contains no personal information, and cannot be used to identify individuals.

Information We Collect from Users of the SEA Members' Area

When you register for an account at the SEA Members' Area, we collect some personal information from you. This information includes:

  • your name,
  • your email address, and
  • the SEA Member School in which you work

This information is used to provide you with the services contained in the Memers' Area such as access to members' documents and discounts on shop products. It is also used, from time to time, to email you regarding your account.

How We Use Your Personal Information

Your personal information is used only to provide you with services you have signed up for, and to improve the quality of the SEA website. We will never pass your personal information on to third parties without your explicit, written consent.

We may email you regarding your account, but we will never give your email address to anyone else. Neither will we email you on behalf of anyone else.

How You Can Access and Remove Your Personal Information

If you have signed up for an SEA Members' Area account, you can access your personal information through the Members' Area itself. Log in using your email address and password, and then click on 'My Account'. From here you can update your personal information, or remove it completely.

When you remove your account, your personal information is immediately removed from our database. It may, however, still exist in backups that we keep. These backups are stored by our web developer Evan M. Sanders and are never passed on to third parties.
