Information Technology Teacher / Instructor


Commencing in Term 2, 2024 this position:

  • Develops the technology skills of students in Classes 4 to 6 in preparation for high school
  • Provides technical support in the development of systems to support the educational operations of the school
  • Is supportive of the school’s guarded approach to children’s use of technology in a safe and appropriate way


About Us:

Located in an idyllic bushland setting in Belrose, Kamaroi Steiner School is a boutique primary school for children from kindergarten to year 6. Based on Steiner principles, we offer a nurturing environment to address the changing needs and capabilities of children at each stage of their development. Our curriculum and method of teaching enhances a deep and rounded learning and incorporates a dedicated Information Technology program.


Key Relationships:

  • The role holder is responsible to, and reports on, all aspects of the role to the Principal.
  • Relationships of significance exist with administration staff, teachers and children



  • Part-time – 5.6 hrs per week during 1 day. Mutually agreeable day to be determined.
  • Remuneration – will be commensurate to the qualifications and experience of the candidate, and in alignment with the Independent Schools NSW/ACT Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021


Key Skills and Duties

  • Working with data management systems to produce school reports
  • Delivering small group sessions to children to develop skills and knowledge in:
    • Touch typing
    • Document control and functions
    • Powerpoint
    • Research
    • Movie making and clay animation
  • Communicating, supporting and upholding Kamaroi’s school vision, direction and values
  • Supports the provision of online NAPLAN testing for students
  • Modelling professional and ethical behavior in relation to the use of IT
  • Supporting school management in administrative functions to improve educational operations through IT use and systems


Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach/instruct in the NSW Education system
  • Previous experience as an Information Technology Teacher in a school setting
  • Good communication skills and be willing to work as part of a vibrant team
  • Ability to work enthusiastically with students individually and in groups with the aim to support and increase understanding and knowledge of information technology.
