Shearwater, The Mullumbimby Steiner School: Celebrating 30 years

Shearwater, The Mullumbimby Steiner School

Celebrating 30 years

On 8 February 1993 our first 37 students – Kindergarten and a combined Class 1 and 2 – sat down on the circle rug and began the Shearwater story.

We invite you to join us in celebrating our story at our Spring Festival on Saturday 2 September from 10am to 3pm. With a focus on community, connection, conversation and celebration, the Festival will showcase the learning program and the history of the school, with talks, walks, activities and performances. Storytellers, including Shearwater’s founders, long-serving staff and alumni, will share a chapter or two from the School’s colourful history, over three decades.

The event will also encompass our Senior Showcase of HSC major works, with a full evening program on Thursday 31 August, and a limited selection of works on display at the Festival on 2 September.

Reaching 30 years is a milestone for any school. there has been laughter and learning, hard times and big stories, adventures, challenges and children-so many children and young people! We celebrate all of the many, many hands that have built (and continue to build) this learning village.

We would love you to join us at this very special event. We look forward to connecting with you again.

Warmly, the Shearwater College
