West Coast Steiner School: Class 3 Gardening

West Coast Steiner School – Class 3 Gardening Project

It has been so lovely to have our students return to campus this term. We now have over 70% in attendance every day, with many extra procedures and precautions in place to ensure the safety of all in our community. The school has come back to life with the sounds of laughter, recitation, strings and singing travelling through the grounds.

Having the majority of our students back on campus means our Class 3 gardeners can start planting their garden, with loving guidance from our dedicated gardener, Chris. Each year our Class 3 cohort are responsible for our front garden, planting vegetables, trees and flowers.

Our curriculum meets the nine year old with main lessons on housebuilding, agriculture and gardening. Class 3 are currently busy with honest, industrious and therapeutic work planting and tending their seedlings of beans, broccoli, lettuce and swiss chard.
